About

PD Dr. Michael Meyners

I am an internationally recognized authority in applied statistics with a specialization in Sensometrics. For nearly 30 years, I have partnered with and worked within world-class R&D organizations to drive innovation and solve complex challenges.

My career is defined by a deep commitment to practical, effective solutions. Having held senior positions at leading global companies – including Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Quest International, and Boehringer Ingelheim – I have substantial firsthand experience with the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of industrial research. My expertise spans a wide range of applications, including:

  • Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
  • Food & Beverage Science
  • Flavors & Fragrances
  • Biostatistics & Pharmaceutical Research

I have substantial experience in sensory claim substantiation and legal cases.

I am at ease working in German (mother tongue) and English, and have working knowledge of Dutch and French.

A Foundation of Academic and Industrial Excellence

I hold a Ph.D. in natural sciences (Statistics, Universities of Dortmund, Germany, and Rennes II, France) and a postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) in Applied Statistics from the Technical University of Dortmund, a qualification recognizing the highest level of academic achievement and professorial-level research leadership. This unique combination of deep theoretical knowledge and extensive industrial experience allows me to bridge the gap between academic rigor and business reality.

A Leader in the Scientific Community

Beyond my corporate and consulting work, I am a passionate contributor to the advancement of my field. I published dozens of peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters. I have been honored with the Rudolf Chaudoire-award (2002) and the ASTM Committee E18’s Award of Appreciation (2022) for my contributions. My standing in the scientific community is demonstrated through my many leadership roles:
